The short version. AI Cleaner analyses your photos, videos and contacts directly on your iPhone. We never upload your media to a server, and we operate no backend of our own. The app does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) and shows no App Tracking Transparency prompt. What we do receive is limited, aggregated analytics and subscription information through the third-party providers listed below.
AI Cleaner ("the app", "we", "us") is an iOS application that helps you free up storage on your iPhone. This policy explains what data the app and this website handle, why, and what choices you have. If you have questions, contact [email protected].
The core features of AI Cleaner run entirely on your iPhone using Apple's own frameworks:
We do not have a server that receives your library, and there is no account to create.
Each permission is requested only when you open the feature that needs it, and declining one still lets you use the rest of the app.
| Permission | Why it is needed |
|---|---|
| Photos | To scan your library for duplicates, screenshots and large videos, and to compress or delete items you select. |
| Contacts | To find duplicate or incomplete contacts and to create a backup before any change. |
| Google account (Gmail) | Optional. Used only by the inbox cleanup feature โ see section 4. |
| Notifications | Optional. Used for cleanup reminders. You can disable them in iOS Settings at any time. |
Deleting photos or videos always goes through the standard iOS confirmation dialog. Removed items are placed in Recently Deleted in the Photos app and remain recoverable there for 30 days.
If you choose to connect a Google account, AI Cleaner uses Google's OAuth flow. We never see or store your Google password.
AI Cleaner's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. You can revoke access at any time from your Google Account permissions page.
The app has no backend of its own. The following providers process limited technical data on our behalf:
| Provider | Purpose | Typical data |
|---|---|---|
| Apphud | Managing subscriptions, trials and purchase state | Purchase and subscription events, App Store transaction identifiers, device identifier for vendor (IDFV), country |
| AppsFlyer | Measuring which marketing campaign an install came from | Device identifier for vendor (IDFV), SKAdNetwork postbacks, campaign parameters, coarse device and locale information |
| Google Firebase | Product analytics and crash diagnostics | Aggregated feature usage events, app version, device model, OS version, crash logs |
No IDFA, no tracking prompt. AI Cleaner does not collect Apple's advertising
identifier and does not track you across other companies' apps and websites. This is declared in
the app's privacy manifest as NSPrivacyTracking = false, which is why iOS never
shows you an App Tracking Transparency prompt.
Pages on aicleanerapp.uk may use cookies and measurement tools โ including Meta Pixel and our own click-attribution tracking โ to understand which adverts lead to an app install and to measure campaign performance. These tools may set cookies and record your IP address, browser and device type, referring URL and the pages you view.
This measurement covers visits to our website only. It does not receive anything from inside the app, and it never has access to your photos, contacts or email. You can block cookies in your browser settings, and use your device's advertising controls to limit personalised advertising.
Where UK or EU data protection law applies, we rely on: your consent for optional analytics, measurement cookies and Gmail access; performance of a contract for subscription and purchase handling; and our legitimate interests in keeping the app stable and secure for crash diagnostics.
Analytics and attribution data are retained by the providers above according to their own retention schedules, typically between 2 and 26 months. Subscription records are kept for as long as needed to service your purchase and to meet accounting obligations. Data held on your device โ scan results, contact backups and settings โ is removed when you delete the app.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.
Because we operate no account system, the most effective way to remove device-held data is to delete the app. If you are in the UK or EEA and are unhappy with our response, you may complain to your local supervisory authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
AI Cleaner is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
The providers listed in section 5 may process data in countries outside the UK and EEA, including the United States. Where that happens, transfers are covered by the safeguards those providers maintain, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
We may update this policy as the app changes. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version, and material changes will be announced in the app.
